Bernd Hellthaler to assume new position as consultant for Medici Arts in 2009

For personal reasons, Bernd Hellthaler will discontinue his long-term seminal career as managing director for EuroArts Medien GmbH and as board member of the MediciArts group. The company would like to thank Bernd Hellthaler for his successful work in the past and would also like to show its appreciation that he will remain available as an advisor – in particular to EuroArts, Idéale Audience and MediciArts distribution.

Owing to his almost 30 years experience in the industry, the MediciArts group will be well on its way to face the challenges of music in the media as a chance for the future.

Bernd Hellthaler has founded the business in 1979 that has since the 1990s carried the name EuroArts. He served as managing director of the company with headquarters in Stuttgart and offices in Berlin and Leipzig.

EuroArts has gained a reputation as a one-of-a-kind production and distribution company for music programming. In particular in the areas of classical, jazz and world music, it has been among the leaders in the global market. In 2004 the company was taken over by Medici Group and its activities encompass TV licensing, one of the most outstanding DVD labels, a VOD platform (Medici.tv) and a TV Station in Asia.

ELEKTROFILM Berlin, which today is part of the MOSAIC group (under the same ownership), has been founded by Bernd Hellthaler in the year 2000.

He also was active as a producer of more than 150 music programs and feature films, such as "Fateless“ (2003/2004) und "Yasmin“ (2003/2004), as well as documentaries including such highlights as "Blue Note“ (1997) and "Jazz Seen“ (1999/2000).

Innovation and quality have always been two major pillars the company's business, as is reflected in numerous international awards including an Oscar (for co-production of "Journey of Hope"), the Peabody and Emmy nominations (for „Blue Note“ and „Robbie Robertson“), or the German Multimedia Award.

Another remarkable success story has been the nearly 20 years of collaboration with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Bernd Hellthaler is a member of the advisory council of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and board member of the International Music Centre (IMZ) in Vienna.
